Little Elves Retreat & Getaway began as a labor of love, rooted in hope, resilience, and a miracle. It all started with a quaint little cottage in Sparta, NC. We, the owners, had a dream of creating a peaceful haven, but at the time, we never imagined how deeply that dream would intertwine with the story of our family.

One of us had been told by multiple doctors that having a child was impossible. Diagnoses after diagnoses, appointment after appointment—there was no hope. Specialists across the country and even in Europe confirmed that the chances of conceiving were less than 1%, with some declaring it 0%. Yet, the longing for a child was overwhelming. Every night was filled with tears and prayers, pleading with God for a miracle.

And then, against all odds, it happened. In the midst of despair, a life-changing moment arrived: we found out we were pregnant—without any medical intervention. It was a miracle beyond explanation. However, the journey was far from smooth. Each month of the pregnancy brought warnings and fears from doctors who doubted its viability. Yet, through every obstacle, we held on, trusting that this miracle would prevail.

On a beautiful day, through a C-section, Maximus (Max) Alexander came into the world—a perfectly healthy baby boy with a full head of thick black hair that had everyone in the delivery room enchanted. Max was not just a baby; he was a testament to hope, faith, and the power of miracles.

As Max grew, so did our dreams. We envisioned a life where our son could experience the simplicity of childhood—playing outdoors, breathing fresh mountain air, and enjoying life without the distractions of screens. That vision brought us back to the charm of Sparta. We fully renovated that first little cottage ourselves while pregnant with Max, transforming it into a cozy retreat. It became the foundation of what is now Little Elves Retreat & Getaway.

Today, we own multiple Airbnbs and a stunning event venue, each created with love and care. These spaces are more than just rentals—they are sanctuaries where families can unwind and reconnect. To give back, we proudly donate one of our Airbnbs to the Alleghany Pregnancy Center, offering a safe and comfortable space for those in need.

Little Max loves to visit Sparta with us, running through the open spaces, laughing in the fresh mountain air, and relishing the laid-back atmosphere that feels like a step back in time. It’s the kind of life we dreamed of for him—a world where families can gather, breathe, and simply be.

This journey has allowed us to not only provide luxury accommodations but also contribute to causes close to our hearts. Most importantly, it has given us the gift of time—to cherish moments with Max, care for our elderly parents, and share our story of faith, hope, and miracles with others.
